Application Developer / Mid-Level

Job Title: Application Developer
Career Level: Mid - 3+ years experience
Location: Millersville, MD
FLSA Status: Exempt
Responsibilities: Use C# or VB.NET, ASP.NET ADO.NET, and other Microsoft or related technology and tools to design, document, implement, and test applications both individually and as part of a team to client specifications. Develop, deploy, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, specifically leveraging T-SQL Programming to create Stored Procedures and other custom queries. Adhere to release management practices and procedures. Adapt to new technologies as needed. Interface with the Technical Lead, Project Manager, development team and clients to clarify requirements and perform updates and maintenance activities for newly implemented and existing applications. Participates in development of software user manuals. Must possess the ability to apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments and operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems, as well as contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or a related area
  • .NET Framework experience is necessary (C# preferred)
  • Other Object Oriented Programming a bonus
  • SQL Server experience is preferred
  • XML/XSLT is preferred
  • The ability to serve as team leader and/or direct others is a plus.

  • Microsoft .NET 2.0/3.5/4.0 Framework:
    • Experience with C# (preferred) or VB.NET.
    • ASP.NET 2.0/3.5/4.0: Page Lifecycle, Built-In and Custom Controls
    • ADO.NET
    • Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) - Web Services or Windows Services a bonus
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / 2008:
    • T-SQL Programming with Stored Procedure Development
